Video visits under Illinois law

Illinois lets a physician treat you by telehealth when the physician holds an Illinois license, and holds that care to the same standard as an in-person visit. Illinois Telehealth Act, 225 ILCS 150

GLP-1 medications are not controlled substances, so no Illinois controlled-substance license is involved. Your Illinois pharmacy fills the prescription like any other.

How it works

  1. A free 15-minute consult. You ask your questions and hear what your own monthly total would be before you commit to anything.
  2. A 30-minute first visit by video. Labs and your full history set your baseline. Dr. Saremi reads every number himself and writes your plan.
  3. A 15-minute check-in by video every month. Your dose is adjusted from what your numbers show.
  4. Messaging on weekdays, with a same-day reply. In Illinois that's noon to 7 pm Central time.

You need to be in Illinois, or another state where he's licensed, at the time of each visit. He holds medical licenses in California, Arizona, Georgia, Illinois and Texas, and a Florida telehealth registration.

Fees

Membership: $249 a month on the Essential plan, or $224 a month if you pay for the year. It covers your visits with Dr. Saremi, your care plan and messaging him directly. HSA and FSA cards are accepted.

Medication is not included. Your prescription is filled and billed by the pharmacy. Dr. Saremi prescribes brand-name, FDA-approved GLP-1s only, never compounded versions.

If you pay the manufacturer's self-pay price, these are the published monthly prices as of October 2026:

  • Wegovy pen: $349 ($199 for a new patient's first two fills at the two starting doses, through December 31, 2026). NovoCare
  • Zepbound: $299 at 2.5 mg, $399 at 5 mg, and $449 at 7.5 to 15 mg if you refill within 45 days. Lilly
  • Wegovy pill: $149 to $299, depending on the dose. NovoCare

So a month on the Essential plan with a Wegovy pen at the self-pay price comes to $598. With Zepbound it runs from $548 to $698, depending on the dose. Labs and other tests are billed separately, only when you need them.

Fees may be adjusted due to complications or unforeseen circumstances.
